The Port District will include a marina.  Citrus County has plans for a boat ramp upstream of the Hollinswood property right on the barge canal just west of U.S. 19. The boat ramp will be installed under the supervision of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Citrus County, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Bureau of Protected Species Management to ensure manatees are not negatively impacted.

Professional wildlife managers and planners believe that placing a boat ramp in this location will take much of the pressure off of local waters like the Crystal and Withlacoochee Rivers. That’s why this place was designated in the Citrus County Comprehensive Land Plan as the most desirable spot for a marina and the boat ramp.
